Every new year Ibiza waits impatiently for the arrival of the Sant Antoni Festivities, in honour of its patron, San Antonio. There are a lot of activities for both children and adults. The festivities have been running since the 7th of January and will last for two months, until the 4th of March.
As you can imagine, there are activities of all kinds. Excursions, theater, exhibitions, sport activities, music festivals, animals, games for children, popular foods, markets… You can find all the information about activities in the program.
What to do in Sant Antoni
From the 4th to the 5th of February, the “Arroz de matanza World Championship” takes place in San Antonio where several teams compete to impress the judges with their version of one of Ibiza’s most famous traditional rice dishes. Music, animation, food, competition and the traditional rice called “arroz de matanza”.
For most exciting activities, we recommend you to build up your courage and take part in the Survival Zombie which will celebrate in the neighborhood of Ses Païsses. From 11pm to 7am, the neighborhood is transformed into a post apocalyptic scene where the participants will fight against the zombies before the epidemic expands. Definitely, a big event for the bravest people.
The last weekend of February will take place the Junior Master Chef Championship, in which children will show their culinary skills. Also there will be a second-hand market at Ses Fonts Avenue.
Finally, the Festivities of San Antoni are expected to finish with the popular carnival of Portmany on the 4th of March. There will be a competition to choose the best carnival costumes.
