The Alderman for Culture of the City of Ibiza, Agustín Perea, and the Councillor for Commerce, Gloria Corral, have presented the Christmas Party Program 2016. The past 1st of December, the Christmas season officially started in Ibiza with the traditional Christmas Lights Switch On. The performance of the Children’s Choir of the Patronat Municipal de Música d’Eivissa made this event more pleasant.

As every year, the program includes activities for all ages. Children will enjoy workshops and music activities, animation, sports and even an ice-skating rink in Reina Sofia Park, one of the latest news. Excursions, storytelling and workshops are some of the activities for the whole family.

Music, sports and gastronomy

There will be music at many venues during this Christmas in Ibiza. They will be groups like Tales of Gloom, Chema Pellico and Alfredo Souza, Rels and Poison Ivy, among many others. Concretely on December 27th, Joy For Christmas will offer a 100% Christmas performance, in which villancicos – typical spanish songs for Christmas time – and soul will merge. And, as every year, on December 23rd, the Symphonic Band City of Ibiza will delight citizens and visitors with the traditional Christmas concert.

They are accompanied with magical creatures who give candies to the children during a walk along the city. The Christmas Parade will start from the beach of the Figueretes, passing through the main streets and avenues, to end up in Antoni Albert i Nieto Square.

Also, a commercial and gastronomic tour has been organized in the neighborhoods of the Marina and the Port of Ibiza to celebrate Christmas in Ibiza. You will enjoy as well international markets and restaurants that offer a wide range of gastronomy and leisure. These are some of the initiatives that we can see this year in this magical island.
